Learn Through a Hiroshima Native's Perspective

This tour is led by a local guide who grew up in Hiroshima, where learning about the atomic bombing and peace has been a natural part of life from an early age.

Along with Hiroshima's distinctive peace education, the guide grew up hearing personal experiences and stories shared by relatives, friends' families, local residents and atomic bomb survivors. These perspectives will help you gain a deeper and more personal understanding of Hiroshima's history, recovery and hopes for peace.

Discover Hiroshima Beyond the Standard Route

Although the city was devastated in 1945, several modern concrete buildings survived. Many were later demolished as Hiroshima was rebuilt, while a small number were preserved.

This tour visits valuable surviving buildings, including one near Peace Memorial Park that many visitors pass without noticing and that can still be entered today. Peace Memorial Park contains many important monuments, but standard sightseeing routes usually include only a few of them. While it is not possible to visit every monument, this tour allows more time to visit additional meaningful sites and understand the individual stories behind them.

5-Hour Tour

Visit Peace Memorial Park, selected monuments and surviving A-bombed buildings while learning about Hiroshima's destruction, recovery and hopes for peace.

6-Hour Tour

In addition to the 5-hour itinerary, the 6-hour tour takes you a further 15-20 minutes on foot beyond the main route. Visit additional sites, including another surviving A-bombed building and a little-known memorial plaque honoring American prisoners of war who lost their lives in the atomic bombing. Through these places, your guide will share powerful and deeply human stories of loss, survival and remembrance that deserve to be known.
